Grean Pea Soup

An original dutch recipe, a favorite with farmers and outdoors men alike.

Ingredients and use of them.

Your spoon stands in it!

2.5 cups green peas. 3 liter water, 1 pork hock, 2 bay leaves, 3 leeks, 2 stalk of chopped celery, 1 potato, 1 sauge coil and some maggi, pepper and salt are all you need.

Soak the peas over night in cold water. The next day add the pork hock, bay leaves, peas and salt. Bring to a boil and let sit and simmer for 2 hours. Chop up your leeks and celery. Cut the potato in cubes. Add all of this to the simmering peas and simmer for 40 more minutes. Have a beer. Add the sausage. Remove pork and cut into pieces. Throw back into the soup. Remove bay leaf and add maggi, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for another 20 mintes or one beer. Then serve with thick slices of french bread. Have with wine, since beer is going to be to filling.
