You take 4 cups of all purpose flour, 2.5 cups of milk, 1 tabl spoon salt, 3 table spoons active yeats, 2 tbsp warm water or milk, 2 tbsp grated lemon peel, 1/2 cup of raisins, 1/4 cup of ginger, lemon peel and orange peel, 5 peeled, cored and diced tart apples, 8 cups of sunflower oil and 2 cups of icing sugar.

Here we go: sift the flour and add the milk and salt. Dissolve the yeast in 2 tbsp of water or milk and leave for 5 minutes. The add the yeast to the flour mix and place the dough in a warm place to rise for about 90 minutes. After the rising, halleluja, punch the dough down and add the lemon peel, raisins, currants and apples. Now heat the oil to 375 degrees F. Using a 2 tablespoons dipped in oil, make a ball from the dough and ip into the oil untill golden brown. Remove and put ballen onto paper towel so oil can drip away. Then put on a serving tray and sprinkle with icing sugar. Oh, so good, these little balls that look like sea mines.
